Joie de vivre! French for joy of living. Do you need more joy in your life? I’ve said it before, but I was reminded of it yesterday in Sunday School. I’m not a fitness professional who happens to be a Christian. I am a Christian who happens to be a fitness professional. I love what I do…really love what I do, and even though I don’t “talk” about my faith often, I choose to “live” my faith. It can actually be really difficult to do. But more than just someone who shares workouts, recipes, and motivation, I like to share my life and I feel like fitness is my platform to share my faith. I wouldn’t be in the position to share and encourage others if it weren’t for my faith.

I truly believe that God brought fitness into my life for a reason. What started out for me as weight loss and not wanting to feel uncomfortable in my own skin quickly became a passion. I wanted to know “why” and “how” and how I could help others, particularly women. You see, our bodies change so much during and after pregnancy. It’s almost like becoming a new person. I struggled with post partum depression after the birth of my first child. There were many factors that caused this, read more about that here…but fitness is about so much more than just physical health. Mental and spiritual fitness are important too. I felt so alone after the birth of Jacqueline that I just knew I had to share with other women if they were going through a difficult time that they weren’t weird, unusual, or wrong.

I feel like I need to blog about this kind of thing every-once-in-a-while especially for those who have just discovered the blog. I want women to know this is a safe place to read, reflect, and if comfortable to share their experience with me even if it’s just to talk about it. Talking encourages healing, and there are women who have had traumatic birth experiences much like mine. Sometimes, post partum depression just happens even if things were text book perfect. There is no right or wrong. It’s life! But I want all women to feel joy in their new bodies and new lives, and that’s what I’m here to do.

If you’re a new mom or maybe a not-so-new mom but really wanting to feel “yourself” again I’d love to talk to you and see how I might be able to help you. You can transform your life at any stage…I’m sure of this. Fill out my application for online coaching. Or maybe you’re not ready for coaching, but you want to make sure you don’t miss any blogs full or fitness, food, and encouragement: sign up for my email here and get your copy of my FREE e-book all about organizing and prioritizing. (I actually was able to schedule my days better AFTER kids and finding fitness. I explain that in there too. 😉 )

Until next time…
