Happy Mother’s Day

In honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday, I thought it appropriate to write about moms. 😊

I mean, the name of the website should be a good indication of what you’ll find on my site, but I also want to share that you may have seen some different things than you were expecting when you started following my page on Facebook or Instagram…or even here on the blog. Here’s why…

Moms are more than just moms, we wear a lot of hats. While I love health and fitness (it’s what I do) I’m so much more than that. In fact, I’ve had to learn over the years the importance of just making it a part of the routine and it not being all about fitness.

Sure, I share my workouts, my food and recipes, and my family. I also share my love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and learning more about women’s self-defense. These things get me super excited…but again, I’m more than that.

I also homeschool, and to say this last year has been overwhelming would be an understatement. I’ve tried to keep the pace with my working at home, homes schooling, and trying to sell and buy a new home. Something has to give. I can’t do all the things. Business has certainly been on the back burner for me. My family is my priority and my BJJ is my release for stress. But I’m excited to say that I’m ready to take on clients again and try to regroup this Summer for the upcoming school year (because we’ve decided to continue homeschooling😂).

You are going to start seeing some home improvement posts soon. I’ve never been able to really decorate…I know there are plenty of military wives out there who decorate and make their homes (including base housing) beautiful, but I could never justify spending the money on something that was temporary and we may or may not use at the next home. So I’m very excited to share our home with you all.

Finally, mamas, I want you to know that you are enough. Sometimes we have to reevaluate what we are doing. I’ve been trying to do that recently, and I think I have a game plan. It’s okay to say “no” and it’s okay to make your family your #1 priority. For me, I just never felt like I was able to contribute the way I wanted to monetarily, and it’s always bothered me. But I know that if I prioritize properly things will get taken care of the way God intends.

An extra special thanks to my husband, whom without I would not be a mama to Jac, Jospeh, and Uriah.

So Happy Mother’s Day! I hope it’s a great day of celebration for you.

Until next time….
