Countdown To Summer
The countdown to Summer is here. The Memorial Day weekend is upon us which many view as the kick-off to Summer. I cannot believe how the first half of the year has flown by, and soon the kids will be home and there won’t be nearly as much running around for me. At least we will no longer have the school drop offs and pick ups. Tybee Island and Hilton Head Island, here we come! 🙂
What Summer Used To Mean
After having my first child, the thought of having to don a bathing suit and go to the pool or beach was truly torturous. I really hated to wear anything that didn’t consist of multiple layers to cover my stretch marks and out-of-shape body. While pregnant with our second child (due the weekend before Memorial Day 2011), I decided I had to do something to get in shape once the baby arrived. As fate would have it, a friend from high school reached out to me and asked if I wanted to join her challenge group. While I couldn’t participate while I was pregnant, we got a plan together so that once baby #2 was out, I could start. AND THAT’S JUST WHAT I DID!
I Got To Work
I started P90X the day the doctor cleared me, drank Shakeology every day for breakfast, and the weight started coming off. 14 lbs in the 90 days. (I was also nursing and can’t say I had a handle on my food yet.) Turbo Fire was next, and I lost another 14 lbs! Then I completed another program and lost the remainder of my weight, but I felt like a piece was missing. I did the Beachbody Ultimate Reset and got below my prepregancy weight, and that was the moment I decided to become a coach and help others feel as amazing as I did!
